Scotland by Train - BRITRAIL??
  • Hi,
I am visiting Scotland in July 2013. I was planning for TRAIN travels between my destinations - such as between London - Glasgow - Fort William - Mallaig - Isle of Skye - Inverness - Edinburgh. Do Visitors to the UK have to have a BRITRAIL pass or similar??
I checked the websites:,uk-visitors and They have mentioned BRITRAIL passes somewhere? Is that really compulsory? Does that have any advantage over getting a direct ticket?
  • It is not compulsory for visitors to have a rail pass. You can buy tickets when and how you please.
