Geneva is easily Switzerland’s most international city, a long-established haven for skilled expats from every corner of the globe. As the European headquarters of the UN, WHO and several key multinationals like IBM and Dell, Geneva has an identity far broader than the Swiss parochialism of its rural cantons. The official language of Geneva is French but you are just as likely to hear English, Spanish, Russian or even Arabic from its polyglot population.
